DESIGN CONCEPT
According to the latest data from the 2019 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), nearly 2 million girls and women in Senegal have undergone genital mutilation (FGM). The majority of these procedures are performed on girls under the age of 5, with very few occuring on girls over the age of 10. Senegal is one of 26 countries in the African region where the practice is prevalent.
